Violet Delancey
An eclectic background.  A focused presentation.
Violet Delancey enjoyed such varied musical influences that it is difficult to imagine them coming together in the crystallized sound that is Violet Delancey's music.

Delancey grew up in Southern California close to the clubs and recording studios where artists like Gram Parsons carved out their own brand of country music during the 1970s.   A move to London to do graduate work in Mythology caused her to switch gears and launch into a songwriting career.   This is when she fell head-over-heels in love with the music of her home country.  Many songs were written in her East London flat.

Once home she moved to Nashville in late 2013.  She was drawn to the same city that had energized many of her favorite artists.  Violet had already realized that good songwriters were also some of the finest storytellers.   Inspired by Dolly Parton, Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson Violet began writing songs that told her own stories-- tales of her varied experience and background.

At album time Brent Truitt, an East Nashville record producer whose credits include Dolly Parton and Allison Krauss, co-wrote a handful of additional songs for the record.  "When the Clock Strikes

Midnight" was born.  Some of the best players in Nashville's music community joined them in the studio.

"When the Clock Strikes Midnight"  frames Delancey's melodies with everything from pedal steel to accordion to mandolin. The result is Violet Delancey's own version of Emmylou Harris' groundbreaking work with the Hot Band during the 1970s.  It's a modern album rooted in tradition with the freshness and fierceness of a new songwriter.

You'll like the way Violet tells her stories.  And you'll like her impeccable guitar accompaniment.

Please join us on November 17th for this great one of a kind concert.  You are in for a rare treat.  The show begins at 7:00.

In Justin's words:
"I was raised on a small ranch south of Ellicott. I didn't really start playing music until I was about 16 when I bought my first guitar and a couple guitar books for $20. I've been playing guitar ever since. I've worked on several smaller and larger ranches across the state. Cowboying is my job, but music is my hobby."
